With a goal for artists to directly benefit from an event—unlike the ones so often held in the traditional “Art World” —Hannah Soule Powderly (CEO & Founder of Don’t Quit Your Day Job Productions) and Lisa Popolo (Director of Operations, Don’t Quit Your Day Job Productions) have leveraged their 20+ years in high-end retail to create their own unique pop-up shop featuring more than 15 artists, designers and creators.

All of the POPSHOP artists have been selected for their singular talents and the eclectic blend of original works ranging from taxidermy to large scale paintings will give these “against the mainstream” creators an opportunity to enhance their careers. POPSHOP is proud to present artists from all walks of life with a focus on women and artists of color.

Over the course of two days, attendees of POPSHOP will be able to meet with the artists directly and experience a gallery of carefully curated artworks, sculpture, furniture, gifts and home goods in a boutique shopping setting, including the new home collection from couture Italian designer Peter Langner and jewelry from Pretty Hunter. Nightly cocktail parties from 6-9 pm will feature live music performances by Emily Danger and Charles Soule (writer for Marvel comics, "The Oracle Year” & “Anyone” novelist from Harper Collins) plus signature cocktails from 8 Ball Whiskey, bubbles from Wolfpack Worldwide, bespoke cookies from Custom Cookie Closet and treats from The Mixing Bowl, as well as “Instagram-worthy” decor designs from Butler Balloons.

POPSHOP is also thrilled to announce an exclusive sneak-peek of the new fashion collection created by TV’s Luxury Lifestyle Talent, Designer and Celebrity Spokesperson, Jorge Perez (Shop HQ / Jorge Perez Style) in advance of its world-wide launch.

As life in New York City adjusts to a “new normal,” POPSHOP creators Hannah and Lisa have added a virtual component with a live stream of the artists’ collections throughout the course of the pop-up shop. Designated times will be listed on the DQYDJP.com website where viewers can tune in to a Zoom showcase for each artist, walking through their collections at POPSHOP, with an opportunity to purchase in the moment anything that catches their eye. Think of it as a virtual gallery exhibition and online shopping all in one!

This is a FREE event and all necessary health precautions will be in place (masks, sanitizing, social distancing.)
